Cooperative Summary of the Day - Midwest Climate Center/MCCDP

Cooperative Summary of the Day - Midwest Climate Center/MCCDP is digital data set DSI-3205, archived at the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). DSI-3205 contains daily minimum and maximum temperature and precipitation data, plus auxiliary information, for 9 US midwestern states plus New Mexico. The data were provided to the NCDC following an extensive data digitization project carried out by the Midwestern Climate Center (MCC). The MCC project was a collaborative effort by state climatologists to convert early data, which was available only in printed form, to digital files. Most data are from the period 1896-1947, but it varies. The earliest and latest data available for each of the 10 states are: Illinois : 1879-1948 Indiana : 1896-1948 Iowa : 1896-1948 Kentucky : 1893-1948 Michigan : 1863-1980 Minnesota : 1881-1948 Missouri : 1889-1948 New Mexico: 1897-1947 Ohio : 1896-1948 Wisconsin : 1896-1948 Auxiliary information includes station metadata and corrections to DSI-3200 data that are necessary for DSI-3205 to fit properly with DSI-3200. (DSI-3200 is Cooperative Summary of the Day and is the primary data set in the 32xx series of data sets.)
