Global BUFR Data Stream: CLIMAT Reports from the National Weather Service Telecommunications Gateway (NWS TG)

Global BUFR CLIMAT

These are raw monthly climate observations provided by World Meteorological Organization (WMO) member nations within the first 8 days of each month. These data have been transmitted since the 1980s. Data are transmitted over the National Weather Service's (NWS) Global Telecommunication System (GTS) through the Regional Hubs. Countries are transitioning from ASCII to BUFR formats. We receive these data via the NWS Hub in Washington D.C. This particular feed from NWS covers just the global CLIMAT data in BUFR format. This is an input to larger NCEI product(s), e.g. Global Historical Climate Network (GHCN).
