abstract: Temperature profile and nutrients data were collected using bottle casts from the ENDEAVOR, OCEANUS, and NOAA Ship ALBATROSS IV in the Georges Bank. Data were collected from 14 January 1997 to 24 June 1999. Data were collected and submitted by the University of Maine with support from the Global Ocean Ecosystems Dynamics (GLOBEC) project.
purpose: To investigate the idea that the growth and production of zooplankton and fish on Georges Bank are limited by the amount of nutrients (especially nitrogen) that is brought onto the Bank from the nutrient-rich, deeper waters around the Bank's edges (cf. Townsend and Pettigrew, 1997).
