Oceanographic temperature, salinity, oxygen, chlorophyll and plankton measurements collected by Hokkaido University since 1957. This dataset contains the oceanographic data published in the DROOEF (Data of Oceanographic Observation and Exploratory Fishing) during 1953-2001 (No.1-45). Some data in the DROOEF are not included on this disk. Station numbers in this DROOEF Data Set are the same as those of DROOEF.

Purpose To clarify the response mechanisms in marine ecosystems to climate change, long-term data sets on marine organisms and oceanographic data are needed. This valuable data set will help scientists better understand how bioresources fluctuate over time and how they are affected by global environmental change.

  • 2015-04-22T00:00:00 - NOAA created the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by merging NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), and National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), including the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), per the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015, Public Law 113-235. NCEI launched publicly on April 22, 2015.
