Biological, chemical, in situ, meteorological, optical, physical and profile oceanographic data were collected, including AIR TEMPERATURE, BAROMETRIC PRESSURE, CARBON - ORGANIC - SEDIMENT, CARBON - TOTAL PARTICULATE - SEDIMENT, CURRENT DIRECTION, CURRENT SPEED, CURRENT SPEED - NORTH/SOUTH COMPONENT (V), DEPTH - OBSERVATION, DEWPOINT, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, FLUORESCENCE, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, NITROGEN, OXYGEN - PERCENT SATURATION, PARTICULATE ORGANIC CARBON, PARTICULATE ORGANIC NITROGEN (PON), RELATIVE HUMIDITY, SALINITY, SEDIMENTS, SEDIMENTS - ORGANIC CARBON, SEDIMENTS - TOTAL CARBON, SWELL HEIGHT, SWELL PERIOD, WATER TEMPERATURE, WIND DIRECTION, WIND SPEED, partial pressure of carbon dioxide - water and suspended solids from Moored Buoy at the Dynamique des Flux Atmospheriques en Mediterranee (DYFAMED) using ADCP, CTD, CTD - moored CTD, anemometer, barometers, fluorometer, meteorological sensors, pressure sensors, thermistor and trap - sediment from 1995-06-12 to 2016-05-21. These data were provided to one of the OceanSITES Data Assembly Centers (DAC). The DAC formatted this information into the OceanSITES file format and passed it on to the Global Data Assembly Centers (GDAC).

OceanSITES is a worldwide system of long-term, open-ocean reference stations measuring dozens of variables and monitoring the full depth of the ocean from air-sea interactions down to the seafloor. It is a network of stations or observatories measuring many aspects of the ocean's surface and water column using, where possible, automated systems with advanced sensors and telecommunications systems, yielding high time resolution, often in real-time, while building a long record.

  • 2015-04-22T00:00:00 - NOAA created the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by merging NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), and National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), including the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), per the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015, Public Law 113-235. NCEI launched publicly on April 22, 2015.
