        abstract:  This dataset includes the monthly mean Sargassum density/coverage derived from MODIS measurements. The data are stored in netcdf, GeoTIFF, or ascii format. The coverage data range from 2001 to 2018 and the density data range from 2001 to 2010. The location covers from 20°S to 50°N and 98°W to 15°E. The data resolution is 0.5° by 0.5°.
        purpose:  This dataset is available to the public for a wide variety of uses including scientific research and analysis.
