Monthly and multimonth National, Regional, Statewide, Divisional, and County products are derived
from the
nClimDiv-Monthly
dataset for the Contiguous U.S. and Alaska.
Gridded products are computed using
nClimGrid-Monthly.
The data are averaged or totaled for the selected timescale.
County and Gridded Temperature (Maximum, Minimum, and Average) and Precipitation are offered only
for the Contiguous U.S. at the Daily, Weekly, and Month-to-Date timescales using the
nClimGrid-Daily dataset. Each day the
products are updated with the most recent data for the current and previous months. It typically
takes 3 to 4 days to ingest and process the data before they are made available. Weekly products are
for the week ending on Saturday. Month-to-date percent of normal precpitation products are made
available after the first seven days of the month. The month-to-date products are replaced with the
nClimGrid-Monthly product once it is made available. Departures for each time period are relative to
the most recent 30-year base period (1991-2020). Areas of gray on the absolute precipitation maps
represent areas where data has not been reported.
