Title: SAMOS project underway oceanographic and quality-controlled meteorological data collected aboard RV Neil Armstrong from 2018-08-01 to 2018-08-31 (NCEI Accession 0176135)
Abstract: The data logging system on RV Neil Armstrong recorded underway oceanographic and meteorological data from various instruments while cruising in the Greenland Sea (including Iceland Sea and North Greenland Sea), North Atlantic Ocean and Norwegian Sea from 2018-08-01 to 2018-08-31. During this period, as part of the Shipboard Automated Meteorological and Oceanographic System (SAMOS) project, the data logging system sent the data daily via e-mail to Florida State University (FSU), where the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS) quality-controlled (QCed) the meteorological data. COAPS submitted three versions of the data to the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI): the original data e-mailed by the data logging system and first-level (automatically and merged) QCed data. This dataset contains all these data.
