The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

| Title: | Intertidal organism and habitat data from aircraft and other platforms as part of Outer Continental Shelf Environmental Assessment Program (OCSEAP) from 1975-05-21 to 1976-05-19 (NODC Accession 7700845) |
| Abstract: | Intertidal organism and habitat data were collected from aircraft and other platforms as part of Outer Continental Shelf Environmental Assessment Program (OCSEAP). Data were collected by National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) from 21 May 1975 to 19 May 1976. Data were processed by NODC to NODC standard F030 Intertidal Organism and Habitat format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/f030.html. An analog file for this accession is available from NODC user services. The F030 format is used for data from field sampling of marine organisms in intertidal or subtidal habitats. The data are collected to provide information about species abundance and distribution. Data from each observation may include: cruise and station information such as vessel name, senior scientist, position, date, and time; environmental conditions such as surface temperature and salinity, wind speed and direction, and sea state; sediment and habitat descriptors; and species identification and organism counts and measurements. Data may be reported for either individual or composite samples. A text record is available for reporting comments. |

| Supplementary information: | These data files are in NODC F030 format. This format is described at http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/f030.html and the codes used in this format are listed at http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/f030.txt. Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM. Due to this uncertainty, the contact information was initially recorded in the Supplemental Information element of the CSDGM description. To develop more accurate metadata, the NODC reviews metadata for all accessions on an ongoing basis. Points of contact for this data set include: Contact info: Agency: US DOC; NOAA; NATIONAL MARINE FISHERIES SERVICE - AUKE BAY PI: N/A Address: address: 11305 GLACIER HIGHWAY, PO BOXC 210155 city: AUKE BAY state: AK postal: 99821 country: UNITED STATES In this accession, NCEI has archived multiple versions of these data. The latest (and best) version of these data has the largest version number. |
