The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

| Title: | Water temperature, currents, PAR, Lu683, and salinity from the NOAA EPOCS 5 Mooring in the TOGA Area - Pacific as part of the US JGOFS EqPac project from 1991-11-09 to 1992-09-14 (NCEI Accession 9700048) |
| Abstract: | Water temperature, currents, PAR, Lu683, and salinity were collected from the NOAA EPOCS 5 Moorings PR05 and PR07 in the Pacific Ocean from November 9, 1991, to September 14, 1992. Data were submitted by David Foley from the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. These data were collected using the Multi-Variate Moored Systems (MVMS) deployed by Tom Dickey (USC). In order to provide the community with manageable files, the original data (3.75 minute sampling period) has been averaged into 1 hour bins. |

| Supplementary information: | The publication listed below is related to the data collection and is available from the NOAA Central Library: U.S. JGOFS Equatorial Pacific Process Study : sampling and analytical protocols. Woods Hole, Mass. : U.S. JGOFS Planning and Coordination Office, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, 1993. Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM. Due to this uncertainty, the contact information was initially recorded in the Supplemental Information element of the CSDGM description. To develop more accurate metadata, NCEI reviews metadata for all accessions on an ongoing basis.
