Hydrographic Data for Indian Ocean for 1976 to 1996 were submitted on CD
by the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Dr. J. S. Sarupria, India.

Action (s):

        1. A disc image named Image_0000762.iso was created and copied to 0-data.
	2. All files on disc were copied to 0-data.

Additional information: The file ReadMe.txt in the About directory includes a brief description
of the hydrographic data.

Data on Hydro CD
----------------

1. NIO Data : Hydrographic data collected by National Institute of
Oceanography
                     from 1976 to 1996. MBT(1633 stations), CTD(1679
stations),
                     XBT(777 stations), HYDRO-CAST(2762 stations) and
                     CHEMISTRY(2419 stations) are available.
2. Levitus Data : Hydrographic data selected from World ocean database
1998 CD for the Indian ocean. Since the database size is
too large, we split it into two. DB Tables namely, North
Indian Ocean (0 to +30 Lat.) and South Indian Ocean
                     (0 to -30 Lat.). HYDRO-CAST and CHEMISTRY data (16021
stations)
                     since 1906 are available.
