Ship (station) name: F/R "Ocher" (Zapribpromrazvedka, USSR)

Expedition: the1-thexpedition, March, 1984

Parameters: up to 6 character unique sample identifier:
Species  total number of specimen in sample;
Count  number of specimens in sample;
Full Weight  total weight of species in sample in g;
Avg Weight  average dry weight of species in sample in g;
Length min  minimum standard length of species in mm;
Length max maximum standard length of species in mm.

Instruments and methods: The fish catches were carried out by the industrial midwater non-closed trawl. There was a small-mesh section with minimum mesh size of 12 mm in the trawl bag. Vertical opening of the trawl made from 35 to 46 m. The trawling duration under catches in the sound-scattering layers made 55 min. to 2 hours and 20 min. Speed of trawling made 4.8-5.7 knots.
The catches horizons were determined by the state of sound-scattering layers and fish schools. At night they carried out catches in the upper 2-90 m layer. At the day time they trawled at a range of 32-370 m depths.
Each catch was weighted. Fish was determined up to the lowest taxonomic ranks species, in some cases genus. Total number and weight of each species in a catch, and average dry weight of one specimen of a species were determined. The standard fish body length (SL) was measured in mm (from the tip of snout to the basement of the middle rays of the caudal fin). The samples were fixed in 10% buffered formaldehyde for further processing in the IBSS laboratories.
