Dear All,

Thank you for your continued cooperation between WDC and ICES. I strongly believe that we continue down the path of mutual cooperation and friendship!

We have completed the 6 ICES datasets we obtained from you last month. Daphne Johnson will be sending you an email which will contain a quality control report for each data set. It is our hope that Daphne will beginning taking on more responsibility in dealing with ICES. The only major problem that she found was that some of the nutrients for the bottle data are different than the nutrients from the same stations which are already in WOD. Daphne is investigating. It may be our own problem, or a change made at ICES.

We have identified more datasets we would like to obtain from ICES.

Data description DATA_SET_ID

U.S. Knorr data ENQ909
Norway CTD data 2006 ENQ679k
U.S. Oceanus 2003 cruise ENQ904b
Denmark Dana 2004 CTD ENQ679i
Denmark Greenland 2004/ ENQ707f
        Baffin Bay 2001
Iceland BS 2001 bottle ENQ852
Denmark West Greenland ENQ707e
        2002/2003
Russia Norwegian Sea ENQ842
Iceland CTD Nov. 2002 ENQ795n
UK Scotia 2003 hydrochem ENQ716m

Please let me know if we can obtain these data and the easiest way to transfer them (ftp?).

As always, I wish to thank you and look forward to a productive fall season.

Else has made great in-roads into the backlog, we've hired the multi-talented Hjalte (read about him on our bulletin board, he was also at WGDIM) who will be working with Else, and we will start the process of finding an additional data manager to help across all the ICES disciplines. We have a good plan in place now for moving forward so we're confident that we can tackle this with our existing and future resource levels.
