Source: data/0-data/ This directory contains files in their original format
as downloaded to NCEI. Troy Kanemura submitted the original data and metadata
package to NCEI in submission package UJYYCH via Send2NCEI (S2N). For the
revised dataset, Brooke Olenski submitted updated data and metadata to NCEI by
email and a Google Drive link.

Actions: An automated procedure copied the files from the original submission
package into this accession. A metadata record in ISO 19115-2 XML format was also
generated from the information provided by the submitter and was copied into
this accession. As per a request from the data submitter, NCEI staff copied
two xml files into the data/0-data/DataDocumentation/ directory: UJYYCH (inport).xml
and UJYYCH (iso19115).xml. NCEI staff extracted lonlat data from the data file
submitted with this accession, generated a specific lonlat file in the about/
directory, and created a station location map with this data which is also
located in the about/ directory.

Version 2.2 - This version of NCEI Accession 0161168 contains several updates.
In the /data/0-data/ directory, file ESD_NCRMP_CTD_2014_CNMI.csv replaced
the original file CRED_NCRMP_Data2014-CTD-CNMI.csv. Files
ESD_NCRMP_CTD_2014_CNMI_QC.pdf and ESD_NCRMP_CTD_DataDictionary_CNMI.csv
were also addded to this directory. In the data/0-data/DataDocumentation/ directory,
files UJYYCH (inport).xml and UJYYCH (iso19115).xml were replaced with files
0161168_inport.xml and 0161168_iso19115.xml, respectively. In addition, several
updates were made to the accession metadata based on instructions provided in an
email from the data submitter.

Files:

about/
This directory contains files created by NCEI staff and processing, including
'negotiable' information between NCEI staff and the data provider.

UJYYCH-confirmation_email.txt -
Email from the Send2NCEI web application to Troy Kanemura confirming that
NCEI has created an archival information package.

0-email.txt -
This email contains a request from the data submitter, Troy Kanemura, to
include two xml files as data documentation in this data package. The files
attached to this email were UJYYCH (inport).xml and UJYYCH (iso19115).xml.
They are included in the 0-data/DataDocumentation/ directory.

1-email.txt -
This email contains a communication back and forth between NCEI staff and
the data provider concerning blank sections in the data file. When asked
why certain fields were left blank, the data provider answered that those
specific measurements were not taken and the fields were left blank
  purposefully.

2-email.txt -
This email is from the data provider, Brooke Olenski, requesting this accession
be updated. The data provider provided a list of updates to be made within this
email, as well as a link to three new files to be added to the accession; one of
these three files replaced a previous file.

UJYYCH-report.txt -
Automatically generated report containing information about the automated
processing of this accession and provider-specific metadata. This report
is intended for use by the Data Content Manager assigned to this
  accession.

0161168_lonlat.txt -
Contains sample locations for these data. Each row contains the geographical position
where these data were collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in the
right column, both in degrees). NCEI may have corrected geographic positions that
seemed to be in error when generating this file. However, NCEI did not change the
original data files under the directory data/0-data/.

0161168_map.jpg -
Station location map for these data.

data/0-data/
This directory contains files as submitted to NCEI.

UJYYCH-ISO-19115-2.xml –
This metadata file was automatically generated as part of the Send 2 NCEI
(S2N) submission process. Due to various errors in this metadata file, NCEI
strongly recommends the use of either of the two metadata files in the
  DataDocumentation directory instead.

ESD_NCRMP_CTD_2014_CNMI.csv –
This file contains the updated data sent to NCEI for this accession.

ESD_NCRMP_CTD_DataDictionary_CNMI.csv -
This file contains a list of terms along with descriptions.

ESD_NCRMP_CTD_2014_CNMI_QC.pdf -
This file is the quality control report.

data/0-data/DataDocumentation/
This subdirectory contains two separate metadata files generated by InPort and
submitted by the data provider. These files should be used instead of the
UJYYCH-ISO-19115-2 metadata file in the data/0-data/ directory.

0161168_inport.xml –
This file contains inport metadata generated by the inport system and submitted
to NCEI by the data provider.

0161168_iso19115.xml –
This file contains metadata for this accession in ISO-19115-2 format. This file was
generated by the InPort system and submitted by the data provider.

data/1-data/
This directory contains files created by NCEI by transforming orignal files in the
  directory data/0-data/.

ESD_NCRMP_CTD_2014_CNMI_QC.pdf/a -
Portable Document Format/A (PDF/A) file that NCEI converted from the
orignal PDF file submitted in data/0-data/.
