Source: The data files were sent to NCEI by the National Data Buoy Center
(NDBC) on a portable hard disk.

Actions: The data files were validated against the accompanying manifest.
The data files were renamed by an automated process, and some reorganization
of the data files in their directory structure may have been performed, in
order to meet the standard file naming requirements as documented in the
submission agreement between NCEI and NDBC. The files were then copied to
the data/0-data directory of this accession by an automated process. The
automated process also extracted metadata to provide additional
documentation in the ISO collection record for this accession.

Files:

about/
This directory contains files generated by NCEI with ancillary information
about the data submission.

0176603_lonlat.txt -
Contains station locations for these data. Each row contains the
geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the
left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees).

0176603_map.jpg -
Station location map for these data.

data/0-data/
This directory contains the data files as submitted to NCEI.
The file naming conventions for these files are as follows:

RDL_<antenna pattern>_<affiliation code>_<site identifier>_YYYY_MM_DD_HHHH.<file type>

where RDL = radial; <antenna pattern> = antenna pattern (i = ideal antenna
pattern and m = measured antenna pattern; Note: not all files have the
antenna pattern field); <affiliation code> = the abbreviation for the
institution operating the radar site; <site identifier> = abbreviation for
the radar site; YYYY = year; MM = month; DD = day; HHHH = hour; and <file
type> = type of file. There are 2 filetypes: hfrss10lluv, where hfr = HF
Radar, ss10 = SeaSonde, lluv = Latitude, Longitude, U component, V
component, and hfrweralluv1.0 where hfr = HF Radar, wera = Wellen Radar,
lluv = Latitude, Longitude, U component, V component, and 1.0 = there is no
antenna pattern for these systems.
