Hi Katharine,

I have two new zip files ready to go. However, apparently I can't send
them to you through email. Is there another way to get them to you?

Hi Katharine,

It will be two csv files, one for each accession. I'll get it to you in
the next day or two.

Thanks,
Mimi

Hey Mimi,

We can adjust the original submissions. It is called a "major revision."
I think we have done this process with you before, but if not let me know
and I can explain it more in depth if you are interested. Just send in the
new csv file. Also, is there one big csv for each of the two accessions, or
are you combining it into one?

There were two with principal investigator Pennock, one for Mobile Bay data
and one for Weeks Bay. We've decided that it would simplify things to make
just the primary data available, and not include all the smaller subsets and
summary tables that were also in the Access files.

I'm working on versions where the data is in one big comma-separated text file,
with ISO metadata. Would it be possible to just replace the original submissions
with these, or should I send them in as separate "new" data? Or is there a way to
somehow combine them but point (from the disl site) to just the newer part?

Hi Mimi,

I just got back to work this morning and am starting your newest submission.

What would you like to update?

Hi Katharine,

Are you back yet? I also need to ask you about updating a couple of other datasets
that we did a year and a half ago...

Thanks,
Mimi

Hi Mimi,

Currently, I am out at sea and cannot work on any archive packages. Would you be okay
with a delay in archiving the package you sent in for early to mid-September? If you
would not be, please let me know and I will pass it on.

Thank you,

Katharine

Hi Mimi,

You can use the FTP site. Here are directions:

Don't forget to send both your metadata and data files.
Enter "ftp ftp.nodc.noaa.gov".
When prompted for name, enter "anonymous" (use lower case).
When prompted for password, enter your e-mail address.
When logged on, change directory to "incoming" by entering: "cd pub/incoming".
Check that you are in the correct directory (pub/incoming) by entering the command "pwd"
(print working directory). Note: You will not be able to create a new directory. Please
add your files to the incoming directory.
Change transfer type to ASCII by entering "ascii" if the data files are text and you are
not sending it from a UNIX machine. If the file is an image file, or a special PC format
(word processor, spread sheet, presentation graphics, or a zipped file) do not change the
type to ascii, but make sure the transfer type is binary by entering "bin".
Use "put filename", where "filename" is the name of your file, or for multiple files use
"mput *.*" or "mput *" to transmit the data. When transferring multiple files you can turn
off the prompt for each filename by typing "prompt" before you type the "mput" command.
After completion of file transmission, enter "ls" to obtain a list of files that were sent,
both by you and other recent data submitters.
Enter "bye" to log off.
Send an e-mail message to: NODC.DataOfficer@noaa.gov to let us know that data was submitted.
Please describe your exact submission procedures and anything else you would like us to know
about the data.
You can also find these at this url: http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/submit/submission_alternatives.html

Please let me know if you have any questions or when you successfully upload the zip files.
