This folder contains data collected during the mooring deployment cruise GISR-01 held 5-11 July 2012 aboard the R/V Pelican
(Cruise designator 13PE01). The moorings were recovered on cruise GISR-04 in July 2013. The PIs on the cruise were Dr. Steven
DiMarco and Dr. Piers Chapman, both with the Department of Oceanography at Texas A&M University.

These data will be transmitted to the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative Information and Data Cooperative (GRIIDC) and
ultimately archived at the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration's National Ocean Data Center (NOAA/NODC).

This folder contains the following items.

1) GISR_G01_Documentation: Documentation about the cruise.

13PE01_CTD_samples_log_version2.xlsx - Event log from chief scientist in MS Excel spreadsheet.
13PE01_CTD_samples_log_version2.txt - Event log from chief scientist in ASCII text file.
13PE01_Cruise_Log.doc - Cruise narrative by R/V Pelican technician Alexander Ren in MS Word.
GISR_G01_summary.pdf - Cruise report containing plans, as-executed and results. (PDF file).
GISR_G01_ACTUAL.TXT - Summary sheet for stations, date-time, locations, bottom depths (ascii text).
GISR_G01_Navigation_Log.txt - Vessel location and related information at 2 second intervals (text).

2) GISR_G01_ADCP: Shipboard Acoustic Doppler Current Profiles (ADCP) from 75Khz and 300Khz profilers.
Processed ADCP data are 5-minute short-term averages (STA) and 15-minute long-term averages (LTA).

GISR_G01_ADCP_300Khz - STA and LTA data in netCDF and LTA plots for 300Khz ADCP
GISR_G01_ADCP_75Khz - STA and LTA data in netCDF and LTA plots for 75Khz ADCP

Note: netCDF file are encoded using "NODC_NetCDF_TrajectoryProfile_Orthogonal_Template_v1.0"
         see http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/data/formats/netcdf/

3) GISR_GO1_CTD_Bottle - CTD and Niskin Bottle data from SeaBird SBE-9 Rosette system

(station_name).nc - Thirty-five files containing downcast CTD profiles in netCDF following NODC NetCDF Templates
GISR_G01_BOTTLE.TXT - Merge of CTD upcast data with parameters from analyzed water samples (salinity, oxygen, DOC, nutrients, etc.)

4) GISR_G01_MIDAS - Continuous data from the Multiple Instrument Data Acquisition System (MIDAS)
See page 14 of the Pelican Cruise Manual http://www.lumcon.edu/pelican/CruisePrep/printablecruisemanual.pdf
