GLODAPv2.0 known issues


This document, initialized Nov 17 2015 summaries known issues in the GLODAPv2 data product files. It is updated as new issues are discovered and reported. 
The issues will be resolved in future versions of the data product files.

Salinity data have been unjustly excluded from GLODAPv2 product. In hindsight, bottle salinity values are indeed of insufficient quality (strong offets between stations, 
but CTDsal values are good and accurate. Next version will re-include CTDsal. In meantime, users are advised to use CTDsal values from original dataset at

GENERAL ISSUES
Secondary QC flags for calculated CO2 chemistry data
The secondary QC flags for calculated CO2 chemistry data have not been assigned as intended (see item 11 in section 5.2 of Olsen et al., ESSD 2015). These will be revised in future versions. 

PRESSURE/DEPTH
99 records have pressure and depth that are more than 5% AND 10% different. The causes are not clear, but this will be adressed in future versions. A complete table of these records are available at the end of this document.
