#TITLE:
Coastal Fish Surveys in the main Hawaiian Islands from Various
Projects and Sources during the 1970s through 1990s

#ABSTRACT:
This data set was centralized for the Marine Gap Analysis
Project of the Hawaii Natural Heritage Program. It was
obtained from various principle investigators for a multitude
of projects. It includes surveys from 183 locations on
the eight main Hawaiian Islands. The data were placed in
a relational database.

#PURPOSE:
Each component of this data set had a unique objective.
It was used by the Hawaii Natural Heritage Program for
marine gap analysis.

#PROJECT:
Marine Gap Analysis

#FUNDING:
Marine Gap Analysis is funded through the Hawaii Natural
Heritage Program. Original funding for each component
of the data set varied with the individual projects.

Original files provided by the Hawaii Natural Heritage Program:

FishInfo.doc
This is an MS Word document with metadata regarding each
contribution to this dataset. A redundant ASCII copy was
  placed in file FishInfo.txt.
Fishdb_Data_References.doc
Similar to FishINfo.doc, this file provides information
about the data originators and their projects
NODCfishmod.mdb (under data/original)
This is an MS Access relational database containing the data.
Each table in the database was exported into an MS Excel (97-2000)
and subsequently into a Comma Separated Version (CSV) ASCII file.
Parameters of each table are summariezed below.
