Hello Francis,

Here is a big submission:

Attached are 2 zip files containing cast data acquired during the 2005
season by the NOAA Ship FAIRWEATHER and its two launches.

1. FA_SVD_ARCHIVE_2005.zip contains 1357 Sound Velocity vs Depth (SVD)
files. The headers in the files contain Project, Survey, Date, Time,
Latitude, Longitude, and Instrument information. Depth and Sound
Velocity were obtained directly from a Brooke-Ocean MVP Profiler.

All the filenames in this zip file have format YYDDDHHMM.FAD where:
YY = 2-digit year
DDD = day-of-year
HHMM = time of day (UTC)
FA indicates the ship FAIRWEATHER
D indicates that the archive file is of type SVD

2. FA_CTD_ARCHIVE_2005.zip contains 657 CTD files. The headers in the
files contain Project, Survey, Date, Time, Latitude, Longitude, and
Instrument information. Pressure and Temperature were obtained directly
from an SBE 19Plus Seacat Profiler. Salinity was derived using
Sea-Birds's software, SBEDataProcessing. All three variables have been
averaged into depth bins and then fitted to 1-decibar intervals by means
of parabolic fitting.

All the filenames in this zip file have format YYDDDHHM.ssA where :
YY = 2-digit year
DDD = day-of-year
HH = hour of the day (UTC)
M = first digit of the minutes of the hour
ss indicates the vessel: FA and ZZ for the ship, F1 for launch 1010, F2
for launch 1018
A indicates that the archive is of type CTD

PLEASE NOTE: I have checked all the files for gross errors and found
only one to report. In file 05256203.F2A, the operator entered an
incorrect latitude of 6.58639. Based on the previous and following
casts, it should be 60.58639.

Best regards,
Ruby
