Files:

about/ - This directory contains files generated by NODC with ancillary
         information about the data submission.

about/0032050_lonlat.txt - Station locations for these data. Each row contains
the geographical position for a station (longitude
in the left column and latitude in the right column,
                           both in degrees).

about/0032050_map.jpg - Station location map for these data.

about/0-email.txt - E-mail from Nancy Rabalais in response to requests for
original e-mail notifying NODC that the data and metadata
files had been uploaded to NODC's FTP server and the 2004
                    grant numbers.

data/0-data/ - This directory contains the data and metadata files as
originally uploaded to NODC's FTP server by Adam Sapp, an
               associate of Dr. Rabalais.

data/0-data/LAHS2004.mdb - A MS Access database file that contains the data.

data/0-data/LA_Hypoxia_Surveys_2004.txt - A plain ASCII/text file that contains
information about the data and data
                                          file. This information follows the
                                          Federal Geographic Data Committee
                                          (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital

                                          Biological Data Profile.

data/1-data/ - This directory contains data and metadata files that were
converted by NODC from their originally submitted format to an
               archival format.

data/1-data/H04Hydrolab.txt - These eight plain ASCII/text files were created
data/1-data/H04Nutrients.txt from the eight tables in the MS Access database
data/1-data/H04Pigments.txt by using the export function in the database.
data/1-data/H04PortaSal.txt The first part of each file name is the name of
data/1-data/H04Refract.txt the table in the database (e.g., N05SPM.txt is
data/1-data/H04SPM.txt from the N05SPM table). A header row is followed
data/1-data/H04SeaBird.txt by the data rows. The columns are separated by
data/1-data/H04Stn.txt pipes (i.e., "|").
