Cruise Description

The final of four seasonal cruises took place in
the winter of 1998, an intermediate flow period.
Sampling included one upriver series, 3 ebb and
one flood series, and two spring and two neap
series.

Vessels

The R/V Wecoma, from the Collegeof Oceanic and
Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University,
was utilized for sedimentological, geochemical,
microbial and ecological investigations.

Geophysical investigations in were conducted from
the R/V Clifford Barnes, a research vessel from
the University of Washington's School of
Oceanography in Seattle, WA.

Coding explanation for sampling series:

     Letter Code: U upstream; D downstream; N
     neap tide; S spring tide
     First Digit: Tidal Series
     Second Digit: Sequence in Tidal Series

     Example: U11 refers to the first
     sequence in the first upstream tidal
     series.
