Subject: biological data from Todd

Olga,

Please accession, convert and prepare for the WOD the data sent to us
from Todd. Here are the specifics about each data set, the
name of the xfile, the date received and the probe I set up for the
data. All xfiles and other necessary files are in
       /home/boyer/datasets/TODD
The data descriptions are from Todds emails.:

"EcoFOCI", zooplankton biomass from NMFS surveys off Alaska

data from the Bureau of Commercial Fisheries (BCF) Pacific
Ocean Fisheries Investigations (POFI). Some of these were digitized when
I was still at NODC, but have supplemented with new data at the variable and cruise level (i.e., added additional metadata or variables to older data, or added entirely new cruises)

CalCOFI biomass data. The old version Linda had included
larval fish and egg counts. They have been separated in this version (that
was the way they were provided to me). I will get them to you in the
future, but probably not in time for the 2009 product / freeze.

The subroutine for converting the data is todd.f
All the subroutines are in subdirectory todd.x and they
can be compiled using "fortOCLPx todd". Other files necessary
for running the conversion:

abundancelist.txt
bioheaderinfo.txt
countrylist.txt
descriptor_todd.txt
flowmeterlist.txt
gearcodelist.txt
institutelist.txt
modifierlist.txt
pilist.txt
preservationcodelist.txt
projectlist.txt
shiplist.txt
taxaspplist.txt
towtypelist.txt

Again, all files needed are in /home/boyer/work/datasets/TODD

I have obtained WOD codes for all of Todds descriptions, so
converting the data should not be a problem. I dont know
if there are any duplicates or matches with existing hydrographic data.

Thanks,
Tim
