about/
This directory contains files created by NCEI staff and processing, including
'negotiable' information between NCEI staff and the data provider.

0000571_lonlat.txt -
Contains sample locations for these data. Each row contains the
geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the
left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees). NCEI may
have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when
generating this file. However, NCEI did not change the original data files
  under the directory data/0-data/.

0000571_map.jpg -
Sample location map for these data.

data/0-data/
This directory contains the data files as submitted to NCEI.

Source: Temperature profile data digitized at NODC by Olga Baranova from "
               "

Format: NODC/OCL GODAR digitization format (comma-separated-values)
These data were manually entered into a MS Excel spreadsheet by NODC personnel
and /or contractors from the original source. The MS Excel spreadsheet was
subsequently saved as the .xls file and as a comma-delimited ascii text in the .csv file.

Further information about the data format can be found in the file,
CSV_format_description.html, in the \about directory.

Using a report generating subroutine created in the Ocean Climate
Laboratory, the following information was produced:
