Oceanographic variable transects across the Deepwater Horizon wellhead

[Please note that the climatological fields detailed here are being
released as an experimental version to help with the tracking and
understanding the effects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The fields
have not been fully quality controlled and may contain erroneous values.]

Temperature, salinity, oxygen, and sigma-theta (potential density relative
to the ocean surface) transects across the wellhead zonally at latitude 28
  43'N from 90W to 85W, and meridionally at longitude 88 20'W from 24N to
30N are extracted from climatological mean fields. The mean fields used
are 1/4 degree spring climatologies at extended depths (for more
information about the climatologies, see readme file in gulf_clim). In
addition, anomaly transects (spring mean values minus annual mean values)
  are provided.

File names are of the form: [variable identifier]gulffull[location].csv
where variable identifiers are t=temperature (degC), s=salinity (PSS-78),
  o=oxygen (ml/l), d0=sigma-theta (kg/m^3)

location is either zon28 for the zonal section, or merid88 for the
  meridional section.

The anomaly files are of the form
[variable identifier]anomgulffull[location].csv

The files are comma separated value files of the form
do not use first field, longitude, latitude, depth (meters, negative),value
