Configuration File Format

Below is given a description of the contents of the configuration files
(*.con files) used to process the CTD data collected as part of the NEGOM
hydrographic surveys. These files are used with the SEASOFT software by
Sea-Bird Electronic, Inc. and contain information about sensor ID number,
calibration constants, and other important information. Over time, as
new sensors are developed and used in Sea-Bird systems the number of lines
in a CON file may increase. However, once a line is reserved, it is always
used to hold the same information. Not all sensors will be installed, however
their lines are included in the CON file as placeholders.  

An asterisk after the line number indicates those sensors which were installed
on the NEGOM cruise; all other data lines were included per Sea-Bird instructions
to allow processing of the files, even though no sensors of those types were used.
Each cruise folder contains the configuration file(s) used to process the CTD data.
The *.lis file for each cruise identifies the configuration file used for each
station. Note that on some cruises there may have been more than one configuration
file used. This occurred when different sensor configurations were used during
the cruises.
