#COLLECTION_INFORMATION:

During the Hakuho-maru cruise kh925, vertical microstructure
observations (temperature, temperature gradient, conductivity,
conductivity gradient, microscale shear) were made with the Japanses
Microstructure Profiler (JMSP) in the equatorial ocean mixed layer.

While on station at 0,156E, 82 profiles down to a depth of 250 m were
obtained from 12 to 27 November 1992 at a rate of four to eight
profiles per day. An intercomparisons between the JMSP and the Advanced
Microstructure Profiler (AMP), operated by the University of
Washington, was conducted on 27/28 November at 1 45'S, 156E.

Current velocity relative to the ship was observed with a shipboard
acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) during the entire observation
period. ADCP data were obtained over a 20 to 220 m depth range with a
spacing of 10 m.
