Source: Nickoli Adrov, Murmansk Marine Biological Institute (MMBI), Academy of
Sciences. Data received by e-mail on February 14, 1997 in compressed format
using compression program ARJ and UUENCODE for e-mail purposes.

Version2.2: This version of NODC accession 9700299 includes email (0-email.txt)
correspondence of continued collaboration with MMBI and NODC, describes
software used to prepare data for e-mail, and describes cruise locations of
data. Four cruise information files (read_me_1, read_me_2, mmbi.ships) and
data format (murm_for.inf) were added to data/0-data/.

Actions: Copied 0-email.txt to about/. Copied read_me_1, read_me_2, mmbi.ships,
and murm_for.inf to data/0-data/.

9700299_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data. Each row
contains the geographical position where these data were collected (longitude
in the left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees). NODC
may have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when
generating this file. However, NODC did not change the original data files
  under the directory data/0-data/.

9700299_map.jpg - Sample location map for these data.

0-email.txt - E-mail from MMBI describing data files (vessel name, cruise ID,
total stations, sea name) and compression sofware used (ARJ, UUENCODE).

data/0-data/
This directory contains the data files as submitted to NODC.

Files read_me_1, and read_me_2, mmbi.ships, murm_for.inf are not the only files
in data/0-data/ but are new for Version2.2 of journal.txt .

read_me_1 - Cruise information for all cruises dated 1901 through 1993. This
file may not pertain to this accession, however, it was included in the
  initial package received from MMBI.

read_me_2 - Barents Sea expedition covered in summer and autumn 1984, 16
cruises. This file may not pertain to this accesion, however, it was included
in the initial package when collaboration began with MMBI.

mmbi.ships - MMBI ship names list.

murm_for.inf - Data format description.
