Aloha Doug,

I placed file, samoa.tar, on ftp.nodc /incoming. After
untarring you will find a Uviewme.txt file with explanations.
If you have any questions, please let me know. These
data were a critical component of one of the reports I recently
mailed to Tony (see txt file). The report details codes
in the spreadsheet file for location of transects.

Here's a comment for my weekly about the data:

AMERICAN SAMOA CORAL REEF DATA SET RECEIVED
A survey of the nearshore reefs at Ofu Island, site of a national
park in American Samoa, was conducted between 7-12 September, 1992
by a SEA GRANT team from the University of Hawaii. For the given
depth and location along each of six transects, species name,
density (number per quadrant), and size were noted. EXCEL spread
sheet files and a document file were reviewed and forwarded to NODC.
This data set was part of a comprehensive coastal resource inventory
that was conducted in 1991-1992 for American Samoa. Data sets
from other components of the coastal inventory are presently being
tracked by the Hawaii LO.

Happy Noggin',

Cheers, Pat
