Enclosed you will find ctd data from german research vessels.

The data are stored in unique format. The format comprise the followed sections:

  (a) MAIN-HEADER records
These are 30 records each time which include the meta-information about
the station and the number of channels and data cycles. Each record
      begins with plain text description.

  (b) CHANNEL-HEADER records
These records content information about the parameter its unit, maximum,
and minimum. The number of channel-headers is stored in the main-header

The file structure:

Every station is stored in one file. The stations of one cruise are collected
in one directory. The name of a directory is the reference number
for the cruise.
If you have comments or questions to a station please refer the name of
the directory or reference number and the file name not the cast number or
other names.

The link between the reference number and the cruise meta-information can
you find in the file content.
