CENTRE FOR MATHEMATICAL MODELLING AND COMPUTER SIMULATION (C-MMACS)  

Established in : 1958.

MAIN FACILITIES

• CONVEX 3820 supercomputer with high performance DEC and Alpha AXP graphic workstations and state-of-the-art software; several low end workstations; DOS based 386/486 machines and advanced networking including internet connectivity through a 9.6 kbps leased line to ERNET hub at Indian Institute of Science.

At C-MMACS, research is carried out in the following areas.

• Ocean Modelling
• Atmospheric Modelling
• Lithosphere Modelling
• Dynamical Systems Modelling
• Industrial Computational Mechanics
