Applications are invited for the following positions in Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu for below mentioned projects :-

1) IDMA Project (Indian Drugs Manufactures Associations ) on Indian Herbal Pharmacopoeia . IDMA project is going on since 1995 and is likely to continue for some more time on yearly grant basis .

2) To Develop Pharmacopoeial Standards of ISM Drugs , sponsored by the Department of Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy (DISM&H) Ministry of Health and Family Welfare , Govt. of India for the period ending March '1999 but likely to continue till march '2000

3) Microbial Biotransformation of Taxol Congeners sponsored by the Government of India, Ministry of science and Technology , Department and Biotechnology (DBT) sanctioned upto April '2000

4) DBT sponsored research project entitled "Refinement of Technology for the micropropagation of saffron " for a period of 3 years i.e upto August '2001 .

5) " Development of Traditional Herbal Drugs as Adaptogens / Immunomodulators " funded under the Drugs and Pharmaceutical Research programs of DST .

I. UNDER IDMA PROJECT

SENIOR PROJECT FELLOW
Rs. 5600/- PM (consolidated )-------------------------------TWO POSITIONS
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION : Ist Class M.Pharm in any Pharmaceutical Discipline .

1. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION : Ist class M.sc Organic Chemistry with 2 years research experience in the area of phytochemistry OR Ist class M. Pharm. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Pharmacognosy.

   AGE : Not exceeding 32 years as on 21.9.1998 . The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes / tribes , women and physically handicapped applicants.

II. UNDER DISM&H PROJECT :-

PROJECT ASSISTANT
Rs. 2500 /- PM ( Consolidated ) + HRA------------------------TWO POSITIONS

1. Qualification: M. Sc. Ist class Organic Chemistry OR Ist class M. Pharm. Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
   
2. Qualification : M. Sc. Ist Class Botany OR Ist class M. Pharm. Persons having exposure in Pharmacogonosy will be preferred.
   
   Age: Not exceeding 28 years as on 21.09.1998. The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of Candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes, women and physically handicapped applicants.

III. UNDER DBT PROJECT:-

JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW
Rs. 2500/- PM ( Consolidated ) + HRA-------------------------ONE POSITION

1. Qualification : Ist Class M. Pharm OR Ist Class M.Sc. Organic Chemistry. Preference will be given to people the Candidates having research experience in Natural Products Chemistry.
   
   AGE: Not exceeding 28 years as on 21.09.1998. The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of Candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes, women and physically handicapped applicants.

IV. UNDER DBT PROJECT :-

1. PROJECT FELLOW
Rs. 3000 /- PM (Consolidated)--------------------------------ONE POSITION Essential Qualification : Ist class M.Sc. in Botany/Agriculture/Biotechnology. Those with experience in Plant Tissue Culture and/or having qualified in NET will be given preferences.

AGE: Not exceeding 28 years as on 21.09.1998. The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of Candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes, women and physically handicapped applicants.

2. PROJECT TECHNICIAN
Rs. 2500 /- PM (Consolidated)--------------------------------ONE POSITION

1. Essential Qualification : B.Sc. in Botany and Chemistry OR Diploma in Biotechnology. Persons with experience in biological Lab techniques will be given preferences. This position is initially for the period of two years.

   AGE: Not exceeding 28 years as on 21.09.1998.

3. FIELD ASSISTANT
Rs. 1500 /- PM (Consolidated)--------------------------------ONE POSITION

1. Essential Qualification : At least 8th class pass with knowledge of field nursery techniques.

   AGE: Not exceeding 28 years as on 21.09.1998.

V. UNDER DST PROJECT

SENIOR PROJECT FELLOW
Rs. 5600/- PM (Consolidated)-------------------------------THREE POSITIONS

1. Qualification : First class M.Pharm. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Pharmacogonosy- Phytochemistry/ Pharmaceutics.
   
2. Qualification : First class M.Pharm. /M.V.Sc. /M.Sc. in Pharmacology OR First class M.Sc. in Biochemistry with 2 years research experience in the area of Pharmacology preferably immuno-pharmacology.
   
3. Qualification : First class M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Phytochemistry or First class in Organic Chemistry with two years research experience in the relevant area. AGE : Not exceeding 32 years as on 21.9.1998. The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to schedule castes/tribes , women and physically handicapped applicants.

The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the projects. It will not be obligatory on the part of the laboratory to absorb the incumbent for regular appointment in RRL/IDMA/DISM&A/DBT/DST and selected candidates will have no claim, explicit or implicit, for absorption after the expiry of the projects.
