National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa, India is proud to commission
and dedicate INOIS to the oceanographic community in Indian region. Indian
National Oceanographic Internet Server (INOIS) is an important milestone
in Indian Oceanography.
National Information Systems for Science & Technology (NISSAT) of the Department
of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR) has funded this ambitious project.
Funded under its Sectoral Information Centre (SIC), programme INOIS has
received a total grant of Rs.31.40 lakhs from NISSAT during the financial
year 1996-97.

- Highspeed Internet link for the Indian Oceanographic community
- Hosting Indian oceanographic information/knowledge
- Platform for online oceanographic marketing/business

- Project Information System (PIS) - Search engine for viewing the past and current projects at NIO undertaken

- Site Search - Search tool to navigate INOIS
- Memory Lane - Sketching the 30 years of NIO's presence vis-a-vis Indian Oceanography
- Goa Online - Projecting Goa, a Rome of East in its best form for sustainable coastal
tourism
- Internet : A New Business Space - Series of workshops at Goa (April 7-8,
1997) and Vishakhapatnam (April 25-26)
