Water year 2021 precipitation has ranged from below to well below normal. In addition, last years spring snow accumulations were also well below normal for portions of southwestern Colorado. The dry conditions have continued into the winter months of 2021. Areas in D4...Exceptional Drought...include Montezuma, Dolores, San Miguel, and large portions of La Plata, Archuleta, San Juan, Ouray, Montrose, Delta, Mesa, Pitkin, Eagle, Garfield, Rio Blanco, Moffat and Routt counties.
