ILX 20210319 <![CDATA[ National Weather Service Lincoln IL 622 PM CST Fri Feb 5 2021 ...MODEST IMPROVEMENTS IN DROUGHT CONDITIONS OVER CENTRAL ILLINOIS... .SYNOPSIS: .Drought Intensity and Extent: Despite the frozen soils, recent rainfall has made some modest improvements in drought conditions over central Illinois. Moderate drought (D1) is located along a corridor along I-72 to Champaign and Danville. Abnormally dry (D0) conditions cover areas north through Bloomington, and also south to Taylorville and Tuscola. * D2 (Severe): No counties remain in D2 drought. * D1 (Moderate): Cass, Champaign, De Witt, Logan, Macon, Menard, Morgan, Piatt, Sangamon, Scott, and Vermilion Counties. * D0 (Abnormally Dry): Christian, Douglas, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties. .Precipitation: During the period from January 26 to February 2, precipitation of over 1.5 inches was common south of I-72. Areas north of I-72 over to Danville generally saw around an inch of precipitation.
