TWC 20210319 <![CDATA[ National Weather Service Tucson Arizona 845 AM MST Mon Feb 8 2021 ...EXCEPTIONAL DROUGHT CONDITIONS CONTINUE ACROSS MOST OF SOUTHEAST ARIZONA... .SYNOPSIS: Drought intensity and extent: According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, exceptional drought (D4) conditions were across all of Graham and Greenlee counties, much of eastern and central Pima County, southeast Pinal, northwest Santa Cruz and northern Cochise counties while extreme drought (D3) conditions were across most of the remainder of southeast Arizona. The exception was moderate (D1) to severe (D2) conditions across western Pima county. Precipitation: Although the area saw some widespread rainfall during the second half of January, the 12-month rainfall totals for portions of southeast Arizona are at or near the record driest levels through the end of January. The exception is across western Pima County where above normal rainfall has occurred in the past 12 months. Hydrologic conditions: Levels at San Carlos Reservoir remained around 2 percent of capacity. .SUMMARY OF IMPACTS: Agricultural impacts: Rangeland, pasture and forage areas available for livestock continue to be reduced due to the dry conditions of 2020.
