DESCRIPTION: Down-core measurements of Thorium-232 and Uranium-238 from sediment cores of the South Atlantic. Each file contains data from one core, including the lat/lon and bottom depth of the site. Also included is the 1-sigma error ("sig") of each measurement. Refer to Table 1 in the original manuscript for further information about these cores. Authigenic U can be derived from total U (reported) by subtracting a detrital component, proportional to the Thorium-232 concentration. In the original publication we applied a 238U/232Th detrital ratio of 0.197 by weight. All analyses were done by isotope-dilution ICP-MS at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory between 1995 and 1997.
