This record shows four distinct peaks of 20 parts per million by volume (ppmv) on a millennial time scale. Good correlation of the CO2 record with temperature reconstructions based on stable isotope measurements on the Vostok ice core (Antarctica) is found. #-------------------- # Funding_Agency # Funding_Agency_Name: Swiss National Science Foundation # Grant: #-------------------- # Funding_Agency # Funding_Agency_Name: Swiss Federal Office of Education and Science # Grant: #-------------------- # Site_Information # Site_Name: Taylor Dome # Location: Antarctica # Northernmost_Latitude: -77.78 # Southernmost_Latitude: -77.78 # Easternmost_Longitude: 158.72 # Westernmost_Longitude: 158.72 # Elevation_m: 2365 #-------------------- # Data_Collection # Collection_Name: Taylor CO2 Indermuhle1999 # First_Year: 62067 # Last_Year: 20145 # Time_Unit: cal yr BP # Core_Length_m: # Parameter_Keywords: atmospheric gas # Notes: #-------------------- # Chronology_Information # Chronology: # #-------------------- # Variables # # PaST_Thesaurus_Download_Resource: https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/access/paleo-search/skos/past-thesaurus.rdf # PaST_Thesaurus_Download_Description: Paleoenvironmental Standard Terms (PaST) Thesaurus terms, definitions, and relationships in SKOS format. # # Variables format: Short_name what,material,error,units,seasonality,data_type,detail,method,data_format,additional_information # ## depth_m depth at sample end,,,meter,,ice cores;climate forcing,,,N,depth at top of sample interval ## gas_ageBP gas age,,,calendar year before present,,ice cores;climate forcing,,,N,based on the Vostok GT4 age scale ## CO2_mean carbon dioxide,bulk atmosphere,,parts per million,,ice cores;climate forcing,averaged,tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy,N, ## CO2_1s carbon dioxide,bulk atmosphere,one standard deviation,parts per million,,ice cores;climate forcing,,tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy,N, # #-------------------- # Data: # Data lines follow (have no #) # Data line format - tab-delimited text, variable short name as header # Missing_Values: depth_m gas_ageBP CO2_mean CO2_1s 380.82 20145 190.5 1.0 382.42 21472 189.1 0.5 382.76 21744 189.0 1.4 383.535 22347 187.7 1.0 385.325 23667 195.2 0.5 385.635 23885 194.1 0.4 386.62 24558 196.1 0.7 387.66 25236 194.0 0.6 388.515 25769 191.1 0.5 389.7 26471 193.5 0.8 390.71 27038 196.8 0.5 391.63 27529 199.6 0.6 392.62 28032 199.1 0.2 393.545 28478 200.4 0.6 395.32 29274 200.2 0.3 396.42 29730 200.1 0.7 396.975 29949 201.6 0.5 397.64 30203 200.9 0.6 398.61 30556 203.6 0.4 400.02 31035 205.3 0.6 405.525 32579 208.8 0.3 406.6 32830 213.0 0.8 407.73 33081 211.3 0.7 408.54 33253 212.6 1.1 411.31 33801 213.6 0.6 412.24 33974 210.8 0.4 413.11 34134 209.9 0.7 413.97 34289 210.6 0.5 416.37 34715 210.3 0.7 416.99 34825 207.8 0.6 418.27 35055 205.7 0.8 419.385 35259 198.6 0.5 420.31 35432 196.4 0.8 422.525 35866 197.5 0.8 424.75 36338 198.2 0.3 426.46 36734 201.4 0.8 427.06 36881 198.9 0.7 429.3 37466 201.4 0.7 430.13 37700 201.6 0.6 430.83 37905 202.2 0.9 431.52 38114 201.9 1.0 434.745 39192 199.9 0.7 436.045 39676 201.7 0.8 436.93 40022 205.0 0.6 438.21 40548 210.0 0.6 438.92 40853 214.0 0.8 439.83 41258 216.2 1.4 441.015 41808 214.6 0.2 441.8 42187 215.7 0.6 442.763 42668 210.6 0.8 444.23 43435 206.6 0.6 446.415 44653 203.1 0.9 447.42 45243 200.0 0.5 447.93 45549 199.1 0.7 449.24 46357 202.1 0.6 450.05 46871 206.9 0.6 450.83 47376 206.9 0.7 452.33 48375 212.3 0.5 452.99 48825 214.3 1.1 453.52 49192 218.0 0.7 455.16 50348 216.9 0.7 456.72 51478 211.7 0.7 457.62 52142 210.8 0.7 458.73 52969 208.0 0.9 459.805 53780 211.5 0.6 461.92 55390 218.2 0.7 464.125 57076 220.4 0.9 465.015 57754 215.0 0.9 465.74 58303 214.9 0.6 466.48 58861 212.5 0.7 467.78 59828 204.6 0.4 470.18 61557 197.4 0.5 470.915 62067 203.6 1.0
