Alibert and McCulloch (1997) report "A least squares fit was then calculated between measured Sr/Ca ratios and the instrumental SSTs using a Williamson regression; with a reproducibility of 0.00002 (2sigma) on Sr/Ca ratios (equivalent to approximately 0.3 deg C) and an error of 0.1 deg C (1sigma) on measured temperature" and in their conclusions "Analytical precision and reproducibility between different Porites corals are better than +/- 0.3 degC (2sigma)." Hendy et al. (2002) data are archived as a calibrated Sr/Ca SST composite; with the 95% confidence interval of the seven individual pentannual Sr/Ca coral records that went into the composite. From Hendy et al. (2002): "average Sr/Ca sd between replicated coral samples is equivalent to 0.15 deg C (sd = 4.6 Greek Letter Mumol/mol; total n = 550; internal laboratory standard; sd = 3 Greek Letter Mumol/mol; n = 21)." For the Hendy et al. (2002) composite "Sr/Ca were normalised to 1985-1860 by subtracting the mean Sr/Ca value for this interval" (verified with lead author Erica Hendy). In McGregor et al. (2015) the Hendy et al. (2002) "SrCaSST_anomaly data were converted to a pseudo SST; whereby to estimate absolute SST the mean ERSSTv3b value (26deg C) for 148E; 18S (the nearest grid square to the corals location) was added to the SrCaSST_anomaly". ; paleoData_units changed - was originally deg C; climateInterpretation_seasonality changed - was originally Annual; ALI1997: Sr/Ca SST sensitivity = -0.0615 mmol/mol/°C; (Alibert and McCulloch (1997)). Average Sr/Ca sd between replicated coral samples is equivalent to 0.15°C (sd = 4.6 Greek Letter Mumol/mol; total n = 550; internal laboratory standard; sd = 3 Greek Letter Mumol/mol; n = 21). The SrCaSST_anomaly data were converted to a pseudo SST. Sr/Ca were normalised to 1985-1860 by subtracting the mean Sr/Ca value for this interval (verified with lead author Erica Hendy). To estimate absolute SST the mean ERSSTv3b value (26deg C) for 148E; 18S (the nearest grid square to the corals' location) was added to the SrCaSST_anomaly.; # #------------------ # Data: # Data lines follow (have no #) # Data line format - tab-delimited text, variable short name as header) # Missing_Values: nan # year temperature 1983.0 26.35 1978.0 26.38 1973.0 26.13 1968.0 25.94 1963.0 26.06 1958.0 26.05 1953.0 26.18 1948.0 26.13 1943.0 25.95 1938.0 25.82 1933.0 25.74 1928.0 25.86 1923.0 25.73 1918.0 25.72 1913.0 25.69 1908.0 25.8 1903.0 25.78 1898.0 26.0 1893.0 26.13 1888.0 25.87 1883.0 25.73 1878.0 26.32 1873.0 26.16 1868.0 26.05 1863.0 26.42 1858.0 26.04 1853.0 25.98 1848.0 25.78 1843.0 26.27 1838.0 26.03 1833.0 26.44 1828.0 26.52 1823.0 26.25 1818.0 25.6 1813.0 26.17 1808.0 26.25 1803.0 26.23 1798.0 25.81 1793.0 25.97 1788.0 26.37 1783.0 26.51 1778.0 26.21 1773.0 26.51 1768.0 26.44 1763.0 26.11 1758.0 26.39 1753.0 26.29 1748.0 26.37 1743.0 26.29 1738.0 26.37 1733.0 26.03 1728.0 26.57 1723.0 26.43 1718.0 26.64 1713.0 25.92 1708.0 26.28 1703.0 25.95 1698.0 25.98 1693.0 26.1 1688.0 26.12 1683.0 25.71 1678.0 26.0 1673.0 25.48 1668.0 26.42 1663.0 25.63 1658.0 25.71 1653.0 25.87 1648.0 25.75 1643.0 25.63 1638.0 25.92 1633.0 25.84 1628.0 26.26 1623.0 26.09 1618.0 25.51 1608.0 26.51 1598.0 26.07 1593.0 24.66 1588.0 25.67 1583.0 25.84 1578.0 26.24 1573.0 25.68 1568.0 26.02
