Pederson in Greenbrook Sanctuary in Tenafly, NJ. These data were collected for a dendroecological study of southern temperate trees growing at or near a northern range margin. They are growing on top of the Palisades along the Hudson River on thin soils and in a fairly dense forest with closed-canopy conditions. Detrending of these raw data should be conducted with closed-canopy or forest interior conditions in mind. The raw data in this collection contains values of -8888 for years where the rings were distorted or otherwise not useful for dendroclimatology. The latest version of ARSTAN reads these as dummy variables and can in-fill these gaps.
