Cussetah Bottoms, Oklahoma - OK040 Additional Site Information Doug Stevenson, Steve Hallgren, Keith Anderso, Cody Anderson Purpose of Collection: Detrending: Cores are stored at: Notes: Cussetah Bottoms is a bottomland site occupied by Shumard oak, green ash, winged elm, pecans, persimmons and an occasional post oak. Old plow furrows indicate that it was once farmed. It is bounded by a slough to the west and the Lower Deep Fork River to the east and a powerline to the south. Several paleochannels cross the site. In 2007 a late-season flood killed many trees. The site is subject to flooding once or twice a century. Otherwise, it is dry most of the time. It is down river from the Beggs Gauging Station which has water-level records going back to 1938. The soil is deep and poorly drained. Data set utilizes -8 missing data flags.
