Missouri Oklahoma and Gulf Railroad, Oklahoma - OK041 Additional Site Information Doug Stevenson, Steve Hallgren, Keith Anderson, Cody Anderson Purpose of Collection: Detrending: Cores are stored at: Notes: MO&G (Missouri Oklahoma and Gulf) Railroad is a bottomland site occupied by a mixture of Shumard oaks and pin oaks. Pecans, hickories, green ash and persimmons also occur there. It is bounded on the south, west and north by a loop of the old railroad grade and on the east by the Lower Deep Fork River. Though bottomland, the site is high enough that it rarely floods. It is almost level; what aspect there is, is toward the east. It is down river from the Beggs Gauging Station which has water-level records going back to 1938. The soil is deep and poorly drained. Data set utilizes -8 missing data flags.
