Klackbumyra, Nas sn, Sweden - SWED346 Additional Site Information Torbjorn Axelson Notes: This collection is based on 8 subfossil PISY logs found 2010 in a ditch for a new cable. Two of them were found to have been cut with an axe. My interpretation is that a new pathway was established along the swamp at about 800 AD, and some laying logs were than removed and dumped into the swamp and preserved. This collection cover the timespan AD 527-913, although only one sample AD 798-913. The collection consists of both single measurement series and a mean sample for each log. The chronology (without the youngest sample and the youngest sample by itself) is dated towards a combination of the Savonlina collections on ITRDB: finl030, finl031, finl033 and finl034 by J. Meriläinen, M. Lindholm, M. Timonen. and T. Kolström on one side and the chronology by Björn E. Gunnarson: "Jämtland tree-ring chronology, Sweden, sample depth and RCS index data", available at Bolin Centre for Climate Research, https://bolin.su.se/data/gunnarson-2017 on the other. Also a 14C test was done on a sample consisting of material from the rings formed AD 655-657 in the sample KLBM14 (one of the axed logs). According IntCal13 this sample should be centred around 14C-year 1380 BP and the 14C-analysis gave the result 1360 ±35 BP, i.e well in the span. All samples are measured with CooRecoorder and futher analysis with CDendro from Cybis.se. In the end of the report, under the ring width diagrams, links showing the content of the CooRecorder-files and the scanned images are found.
