Data Set Description: This is a subset of the Deep-Sea Coral Research and Technology Program’s National Database. The data were acquired for the National Database from a research cruise aboard R/V Nancy Foster, August 2010. The survey was conducted in support of the Natural Resources Damage Assessment for Deep Water Horizon. The data were provided by Dr. Peter Etnoyer, Chief Scientist and PI for the NOAA-led mission. The data are specimens collected by DSR/V Global Explorer MK3 . The records represent collections of octocorals in the 68 - 82 meter depth range in the Northern Gulf of Mexico, including their number, size, and condition. Changes to the original dataset may have been made to conform to the National Database Schema and for quality control purposes. This is a collection of NOAA, Office of Response and Restoration records collected by ROV cruise conducted in August 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico.
