Data Set Description: This is a subset of the Deep Sea Coral Research and Technology Program’s National Database. The represent selected observations and specimens of deep-sea corals and sponges collected by submersible during dives in 2006 in the Straits of FLorida, between Florida and the Bahamas. A primary goal of the expedition was to search for marine organisms that produce chemical compounds with the potential to treat human diseases. Changes to the original dataset may have been made to conform to the National Database Schema and for quality control purposes.
