Data Set Description: This is a subset of the Deep Sea Coral Research and Technology Program’s National Database. The data were provided by the New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA). NIWA is a Crown Research Institute established in 1992. The NIWA Invertebrate Collection (NIC) holds specimens from almost all invertebrate phyla. This is a result of about half a century of marine taxonomic and biodiversity research in the New Zealand region, the South West Pacific and the Ross Sea, Antarctica. Changes to the original dataset may have been made to conform to the National Database Schema and for quality control purposes.
