Data Set Description: This is a subset of the Deep Sea Coral Research and Technology Program’s National Database. The data represent observations of sea pens (Halipteris sp.) recorded during camera sled surveys of soft sediment habitats in Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary by NOAA Ship McArthur II in April 2004. The goal oif this joint NOAA/USGS mission was to To acoustically image, document and film extensive seafloor habitats and life on the seafloor within the Cordell Bank and neighboring sanctuaries as part of a multi-agency seafloor mapping project. Changes to the original dataset may have been made to conform to the National Database Schema and for quality control purposes.
