Data Set Description: This is a subset of the Deep Sea Coral Research and Technology Program’s National Database. The data represent records of octocorals collected by NOAA’s West Coast Groundfish Observer Program and identified through genetic sequence data by the Northwest Fisheries Science Center, and morphological identification of voucher specimens by taxonomists. Changes to the original dataset may have been made to conform to the National Database Schema and for quality control purposes. Further information on the West Coast Groundfish Observer Program can be found at: https://www.nwfsc.noaa.gov/research/divisions/fram/observation/pdf/Groundfish_Mortality_2016.pdf; Genetic techniques are reported in: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0165279
