Data Set Description: This is a subset of the Deep Sea Coral Research and Technology Program’s National Database. Coral and sponge occurrences in the Phoenix/Tokelau/Northern Cook Islands. The survey was conducted aboard the R/V Falkor in October 2017, using the SuBastian ROV. The ‘SurveyID’ is FK171005. Specific localities include the Phoenix Islands Protected Area, off Nikumaroro. For further information see: Cairns SD (2018) Primnoidae (Cnidaria: Octocorallia: Calcaxonia) of the Okeanos Explorer expeditions (CAPSTONE) to the central Pacific. Zootaxa 4532:1-43. The principal investigator for this work was Erik Cordes at Temple University. Changes to the original dataset may have been made to conform to the National Database Schema and for quality control purposes.
