Data Set Description: This is a subset of the Deep Sea Coral Research and Technology Program’s National Database. These coral and sponge records are from research conducted aboard the Scmitdt Ocean Institute’s vessel, Falkor, in the Emperor Seamount Chain in 2019. The annotations of corals and sponges are provided by the University of Hawai’i. Localities included in the survey: Emperor Seamount Chain, Suiko Seamount | Emperor Seamount Chain, Yomei Seamount | Emperor Seamount Chain, Godaigo Seamount | Emperor Seamount Chain, Nintoku Seamount | Emperor Seamount Chain, Jingu Seamount | Emperor Seamount Chain, Koko Seamount, Hess Rise | and Emperor Seamount Chain, Annei Seamount. Changes to the original dataset may have been made to conform to the National Database Schema and for quality control purposes.
